This song is sure to raise questions and start rumors in the Christian hip hop community. No doubt, there's gonna be talk about beef between Macho and Uprok - but that's not the case. As a matter of fact Plastic and I discussed the track and we're cool. Here is an excerpt of our email: (Macho) Just to be clear it was not my intention to blast you, but I wrote what I felt at the moment and after listening to the song 5 or 6 times after your email, I don't feel that I was out of line. I believe that I am shedding light on a truth and that truth is that the industry is not designed for the artist and also that as an artist I felt unappreciated, hence ”they could care less about my words, don't give a second thought to my art” (petty as that may be, it was still my feeling) (Josh) I really felt that line and definitely agree. To make sure I'm communicating clearly, I don't feel explicitly on 'blast' but it can appear so when hearing stuff like 'Uprok sucks' because for most people, they aren't able to make a differentiation between the Way tooth and nail works and how that trickled down. (Macho) I was speaking about the record industry as a whole in general and I made reference to Tooth&Nail as well as Uprok because #1 it was with you guys that I had my first industry experience and #2 it was just a lyrical word play and not the focus of the song. In all of my interviews I have purposely stated that our time with Uprok and Tooth&Nail was a good experience for us for different reasons and we were done with our contract so it was time to move on.
